What to expect

When you come to SFY! you can expect:

  • To be treated with dignity and respect.
  • To enjoy a mix of guests from all walks of life.
  • To be nourished both by the healthy, homemade food and by the warm community environment.

In return we expect that you:

  • Are not under the influence of a chemical substance.
  • Are dressed for a cafe. As with any restaurant “No shirt, no shoes, no service”.
  • Treat other guests and our volunteers appropriately.

SFY! is a café where you are our guest. Have a seat at a table and a volunteer will come by, ask you for your soup order and bring it to you. We serve flavorful soups (2-3 varieties per day) and you may enjoy up to two bowls of soup. Most soups are vegetarian (and many vegan) to suit a wide range of dietary, cultural, and religious needs. We also offer luscious side dishes, bread and yummy desserts (as available). Everything is served with real dishes and stainless ware – no paper or plastic at SFY! There is no cost for the meal yet donations are gratefully accepted.

While at your table, please enjoy conversation with your tablemates. Many friendships have been started at SFY! Become a regular and our volunteers will greet you by name, too!

Tuesdays are special at SFY! That’s when the SFY! house band, The Grateful Fed, provide music. There may even be a chance for a singalong!

On Wednesdays we distribute bags of produce and groceries (depending on availability). The food is donated to SFY! by our partners through food rescue programs keeping perfectly good food from being discarded.
